Tier 1
Judgment
Reading a system, or a decision, and saying what it actually is. Bounded, written, and useful whether or not you ever work with me again. The Production Readiness Review lives here.
Fixed scope · fixed price · ends in a document
How I work
Everything I do sits in one of three tiers. Which tier you need is usually the thing you cannot judge yet — which is why almost every engagement starts with the same fixed-scope review.
The three tiers
Tier 1
Reading a system, or a decision, and saying what it actually is. Bounded, written, and useful whether or not you ever work with me again. The Production Readiness Review lives here.
Fixed scope · fixed price · ends in a document
Tier 2
Setting the shape of the system and making your own agents produce better work inside it: boundaries, conventions, and the guardrails that stop the next 100K lines repeating the last mistake.
Scoped per phase · decisions on record
Tier 3
Building it. I take the parts that are load-bearing and hard to reverse; you and your agents keep the rest. I do not staff teams and I do not sell days.
Deliverable-priced · one operator
The standard entrance
Not as a sales device — as the cheapest way for both of us to find out whether the work is worth doing. It is fixed-price, it ends in a document you own, and it is the only engagement I will start without having read your system first.
The Production Readiness Review →Continuity, in full
Nothing has to be bought out. Each step is priced on its own, and the next one starts from what the last one produced. If the work changes shape, we end one agreement cleanly and negotiate the next rather than letting scope drift.
Tier 1. Fixed scope and price, ending in a verdict.
Tier 2 or 3. Scoped from the register, priced per deliverable.
Advisory or fractional CTO. A monthly commitment, cancellable, decisions minuted.
Only where the work is long-run and the incentive should be shared. Discussed, never pitched.
If you have already built the system, the Review is the fastest way to replace uncertainty with a verdict you can act on.
